Residential Trips
At our school we believe residential experiences are an important part of a child’s primary education. They offer opportunities that go far beyond the classroom – building independence, teamwork, confidence, and creating memories that last a lifetime. Each year group builds up their experience of staying away from home, beginning with shorter local residentials and moving towards longer, more adventurous ones in upper Key Stage 2.
Year 2 Barnstondale, Wirral
Our Year 2 begin their residential journey in Year 2 and enjoy their first residential at Barnstondale situated on the Wirral, a well-equipped outdoor activity centre situated on the Wirral. Here, pupils take part in a wide variety of activities including archery, bushcraft, orienteering and team-building challenges. The trip helps children develop independence, cooperation and self-confidence while providing a safe and supportive introduction to staying away from home for the first time.
Year 3 Laches Wood, Shropshire
Our children continue their residential journey in Year 3 with a stay at Laches Wood Outdoor Education Centre in Shropshire. This residential builds upon children’s experience of staying away from home and taking part in a range of outdoor activities. Children enjoy activities such as orienteering, climbing, bushcraft, and problem-solving challenges. The experience builds confidence, teamwork, and resilience in a safe and supportive environment, helping pupils take their first steps towards independence.

Year 6 London
The children in Year 6 have the opportunity to visit London in June after their SATs. London offers a unique opportunity for pupils to experience history, culture and geography in the capital city. Children visit world-class landmarks and museums, linking directly to the curriculum. Activities include the London Eye, a cruise along the Thames, a visit to Parliament, a show on West End. For many pupils, this is their first chance to visit the capital city.
