What Parents and Carers Say

We value the feedback we receive on  Parent View: https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/ but also note that not many parents choose to provide feedback in this way. We therefore use the results of on our own annual survey and the feedback we are given throughout the year to help inform our work and decision making.

During the lockdown period of 2020, we have improved communication with parents and have made more use of our website and other online tools.  We decided to create our own survey, with questions which mirror those on ParentView.  We hoped that as parents become more used to communicating with us online, that they would feel more comfortable completing a survey that we created.

The Parent/Carer survey December 2021 had 17 responses that told us:

  • your children are happy in this school
  • your children feel safe in school
  • that you know what your child is learning in school
  • that any concerns you have are dealt with properly
  • your children do well in this school
  • your children love going to school
  • staff are approachable
  • school is an excellent learning environment
  • All responders would recommend our school to others

The Parent/Carer surveys from December 2020 told us that:

This year we had 14 completed surveys.

  • your children love coming to school
  • our staff are approachable
  • our school has a friendly, family feel
  • our school provides an excellent learning environment
  • you value our Teachers

A summary of all the completed surveys can be found to download below.  As always, we will continue to act to improve the way our School operates and to take on board your comments and suggestions where appropriate.

The Parent/Carer surveys from Summer 2019 told us that:

  • You feel that our Schools is safe and secure
  • your children love going to school
  • our staff are approachable
  • our School has a family feel

The Parent/Carer surveys from Summer 2018 told us that our school is valued for:

  • standard of teaching being high
  • having kind and considerate children
  • the family feel of the school

From this feedback we continued to work on the targets you set us last year as had been doing well with this by providing a calendar of events for the whole year and planning our clubs carefully as well as reviewing our approaches to homework tasks.

The Parent/Carer Surveys from Summer 2017 (30 responses) told us that our school is valued for:

  • being friendly and welcoming
  • its community spirit
  • the dedication of all the staff

“I value the way all staff support each and every child and also the families."

"I like the fact it is a small school and everyone knows everyone."

"The children are well-behaved and the teachers always have time for you."

"You get help when you need it, not just for education."

"I love coffee mornings and seeing all the children do different things, I also love Family lunch."

The surveys also told us that parentscarers would like us to:

  • arrange some events later in the day so working parents can attend
  • ensure our communication about events allows ample time to organise days off or buy accessories/arrange sponsorship for the event
  • Maintain our trips and visits and involve parents in more open afternoon events
