Our Sports Ambassadors for 2021/2022

Our newly appointed Sports Ambassadors attended the Ellesmere Port Sports Village this week for their first training session.  They represented our school well and are looking forward to attending local events very soon.

Sporting in the Virtual World 2021

2021 was another unusual year, with all of our events being held within school. All of our children thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the virtual challenges again this year and we are very proud of their achievements.   As you can see, we did very well in a challenging sporting year and we have high hopes for 2021/22.  Huge thanks to Mrs Birt for her work with all year groups and to our School Games Organiser, Mark, for keeping us on track.

Sporting in the Virtual World 2020

We were recognised for our continued commitment to Sports and PE in 2019-2020. It had been an unusual time for us during the lockdown period, but the children thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the virtual challenges and we are very proud of their achievements.

Here is Shaun, one of our Sports Ambassadors, displaying our 2019/20 award for ongoing commitment and achievement in the School Games Award during the Autumn and Spring terms.

We also received an award for our involvement in the Virutal Games during the Summer term and here you can see Benjamin proudly displaying the certificate.

We are proud to be members of the Cheshire Oaks Schools Sports Partnership. This enables us to take advantage of the opportunities it provides so that our children can represent their school and take part in events with others in friendly and competitive sports.

We believe that the core principles of sport and exercise are fundamental to a child's overall development. Team work, determination, perseverance, commitment and achieving goals are all instilled through our P.E.curriculum, extra-curricular activities and day-to-day attitude.

Our Sports Ambassadors support our work to make sure we think about small changes we can make to make a difference to our health. They use resources on Change For Life. As young leaders they are working well to promote these messages to our children, families and staff which we really appreciate. They also each have a Personal Best book in which they record their progress towards specifc goals. They promote the setting of personal targets and can be relied upon to be encouraging role models at school sporting events.

Our Athlete Visit programme included a visit from Craig McCann in January 2020. We all took part in a sponsored event to raise money for Sports for Schools.

School Games GOLD Award Presentation - December 2019

It was our pleasure to attend the The Ellesmere Port Church of England College this month to be presented with our Gold School Games Award for 2018/19.  Two of our Sports Ambassadors attended along with Ms Finch and were thrilled to be part of the celebrations

Sports Ambassador Training 2019

It was good to see our Sports Ambassadors in action this week as they attended their first training event and collected a certificate fof attendance.  They conducted themselves in an exemplary manner and we are very proud of them.

HOT OFF THE PRESS!

On 11th July 2019 we learned that we successfully gained the School Games Mark Gold Award 2018-2019.  This is the second consecutive year that we have achieved this, and we are thrilled!

The children have loved competing in the inter- and intra- school competitions and our Sports Ambassadors have done a terrific job in promoting PE, sports, clubs and sporting opportunities to their peers.

Well done to everyone who has been involved this year for your hard work and support.  You helped us achieve the Gold standard for another year.

We first gained School Games Mark Gold Award in 2017-2018.   Our children showed real enjoyment of their events and engaged well individually and when working as part of a team which allowed them to make the very best of the opportunities they are given.
