School Council

Our School Council

At Westminster Community Primary School, we believe every child’s voice matters. Our School Council gives children a platform to share their ideas, represent their classmates, and make a real difference to school life.

The School Council is a team of enthusiastic and responsible children who are dedicated to making our school the very best it can be. Together, they:

Inspire others by sharing creative ideas to improve our school.

Believe in themselves and each other as they take on leadership roles.

Achieve positive change through teamwork, organisation, and determination.

From organising exciting events and fundraising activities to sharing feedback on school life, our councillors play an important role in shaping our community. They are role models who demonstrate respect, responsibility, and kindness.

Each Autumn Term, classes from Year 1 to Year 6 hold elections so that children can experience the democratic process and vote for their class representative. Reception pupils join in during the Spring Term, casting their votes for the first time. This ensures that every child across the school has a chance to be represented and heard.

The School Council meets with Mr Haven and Miss Fortune on the first Monday of each month. During these meetings, children discuss new ideas, raise issues, and plan future projects. Whether it’s improving playground equipment, promoting healthy lifestyles, or supporting local charities, our councillors help turn ideas into action.

Our School Council is a shining example of how children at Westminster inspire one another, believe in themselves, and achieve great things together.
