Artsmark Award

We achieved Silver Artsmark Award in 2020.

We have a well-established link with Action Transport Theatre and have enjoyed performances of 'Little Red and the Big Bad Wolf', 'Happily Ever After', 'The Jungle Book,' 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'Adrift'. In December 2019 we were asked to submit ideas for the redevelopment of the theatre and were pleased to be involved and we currently have a focus group working with the theatre to discuss naming and future projects.

We also link with West Cheshire College and they bring a play to our school each year and perform this for our Year 5/6 pupils. This involves a thorough discussion of characters and actions after the play and also allows our children to ask questions about acting and studying creative arts.

In June 2018 our Year 5/6 Pupils played with the Halle Orchestra at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and impressed us all with their playing, singing and dancing. We loved hearing their positive comments about the conductor and the musicians and the venue itself.

The musicality of our Year 5/6 pupils also enabled them to write a song with Ashley Fayth which they then got to perform in a special event in Chester Zoo in July 2018. Such a great opportunity to develop skills during our Palm Oil project with Ignite Teaching School Alliance. We loved our song and being able to hear other local schools sharing their songs too. Our Year 3/4 pupils joined with other local schools in June 2019 to sing together as part of our link with Edsential Music Service. They performed three songs with the other primary schools and showcased their own performance of 'The Circle of Life'. They also got to experience a range of performances from students at The Ellesmere Port Church of England College that hosted the event.
