Pupil Premium

Our Pupil Premium

A high proportion of our children are supported by Pupil Premium funding. You can read a government summary of this funding here.

We evaluate each child’s progress half termly to determine the effectiveness of the support we are providing and to inform our next steps for this pupil. We also evaluate our whole school initiatives to ensure we are effective in our provision. We are proud of our commitment to Study Support work for our Year 2 and 6 pupils and that this has led to similar provision for Year 1 pupils in the lead-up to the Phonic Screening Check. We have a team of staff to support children’s attendance and well-being and this also ensures we are able to promote the characteristics of good learners.

Did you know that registering your child for Free School Meals means that our school gets extra money? For every child registered, our school can receive £1385.

All members of staff and our governing body accept responsibility for ‘disadvantaged’ pupils and are committed to meeting their social, emotional and academic needs. In making provision for disadvantaged pupils we recognize that not all pupils who receive free school meals will be disadvantaged. We also recognise that not all pupils who are disadvantaged are registered for or qualify for free school meals. The governors reserve the right to allocate the funding to support any individual or group of pupils the school has legitimately identified as being disadvantaged.

We use the Education Endowment Fund website and details of their research to help us plan our spending and then review our work to ensure we are achieving value for money.

Please download our Pupil Premium Strategy document and take a look. If you have any questions please arrange an appointment with the Head Teacher, Sue Finch.
